Q: When I leave my employer, do I have to take my retirement money out of their plan?
A: Not necessarily. When you leave a job, you typically have several options for your retirement plan. You can usually leave the money in your former employer’s plan (if allowed), roll it into a new employer’s plan, or move it into an IRA. At Financial Partners Group, we can help you review your choices and determine which option best fits your financial goals and retirement strategy.
Q: At what age can I start taking money from my IRA without penalty?
A: You can begin taking distributions from a traditional IRA without penalty at age 59½. Withdrawals made before that age may be subject to a 10% early withdrawal penalty and regular income taxes. With Roth IRAs, you can withdraw your contributions at any time, but earnings are tax and penalty-free only after age 59½ and once the account has been open for at least five years.
Q: Do I have to live in Ashland, KY for you to be my advisor?
A: No. You do not need to live in Ashland to work with us. Financial Partners Group proudly serves clients across Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia.
