Our Story: Where It All Began

Financial Partners Group was founded on a simple belief: financial planning should be personal, accessible, and grounded in trust.

Our roots trace back to Ashland, Kentucky, where Gino Cox, a long-time ER nurse with a passion for helping others, transitioned into financial advising over 20 years ago. After years of building lasting client relationships, Gino partnered with Carla Adkins, a seasoned client service professional, to create a new kind of advisory — one that puts integrity, reliability, and service at its core.

What started as a small office in the basement of King’s Daughters Hospital — conveniently located for the hospital staff Gino originally served — has steadily grown into a full-service, independent firm. Over the years, we’ve expanded our services, our team, and our vision to meet the needs of a wider community.

Where We Are Today

From our beginnings in a basement office, Financial Partners Group has grown into a trusted financial advisory firm with three office locations to serve our clients. The locations include an office inside King’s Daughters Medical Center, one on Main Street in downtown Monticello, KY and a prominent new home in downtown Ashland on Carter Avenue. This new Ashland location not only reflects our growth but also allows us to be more visible and accessible to the community, opening the door for new relationships and opportunities.

Our team has also grown with the future in mind:

Greg Rankin, with over a decade of experience as a Financial Advisor and more than 20 years serving in Executive and Management roles, decided to join FPG in 2021. With Greg joining the firm, FPG dramatically increased the locations and clients we serve across Kentucky. With the addition of the Monticello office and Greg’s years of experience and contacts as an advisor across Kentucky, the firm’s client base expanded significantly.
Anna Fry, our newest team member, is training under Carla to learn the ins and outs of the business, helping us maintain our strong commitment to client service for years to come.
